Our Mission
The mission of Torahlab is simple: remove every obstacle to Torah study.
Torah is not something you achieve — it is something you inherit. It belongs, in its entirety, to every member of the Jewish nation, before they’ve learned a single word of it.
Our Vision
Open Source Torah Study — there are no credentials to “earn” the right to Torah study. It is our birthright. Choose a topic and a time, and we will find you a lab partner. Embark together.
A community where no one who wants to learn is ever left without a partner — one Torahlab at a time.
Our Torah. Ours to explore.
With each other.
Why Torahlab exists
Rabbi Lipsker was the founder of Jewish life as we know it in Surfside, FL. On the occasions we did speak, whether he made a beeline over or I caught him in a lighter moment, the conversation itself was always original and fresh, and I often think back to those talks. I loved the rawness of the material — he might share an interaction he had with the Rebbe, or something that had happened to him a little while ago. It was always interesting; I always left fascinated.
But it never stopped there — he always pushed further, asking the same question:
“How many people are you learning with? Can you please set up more chavrusos?”
As we followed the car carrying the Rabbi to rest up 96th Street, the question lingered. If you can only give an hour a week to Torah study, we want all of it to go to the study — not to coordinating it.
